Dimday Red TTRPG - Nodus Zine 02

Created by Spiros Drakatos

Dimday Red is a mid-apocalyptic tabletop role-playing game set in a bleak, socially fragmented world, where you can play as a mutant or a faction member, during the last 52 years of life on Earth. It expands on the Powered by the Apocalypse system with custom designed mechanics, meant to give the freedom to live your final days the way you choose! Following an exhilarating year filled with loving support and valuable feedback from our community, Dimday Red is forging ahead, bigger and more mature, delving deeper into the darker realms of the Neu Bonn saga.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Dimday Red Digital Core Now Available to all Physical Backers!
9 days ago – Tue, Aug 11, 2026 at 09:00:03 AM

Hey guys,

I just sent the key for the Dimday Red Digital Core (see previous update if you missed it) to all physical backers, with instructions on how to activate it. The email is sent to your Kickstarter email, if you don't get it, please check your spam folder, and let me know.

The Core is designed to be updated with new content, but you always have access to it, and you will never be charged for any additions.

Digital backers who may wish to get their hands on it can find it at the Dimday Red website > https://dimday.red/b/YHq0c

The rest of the world will have to wait until I find the time and courage to promote it, so for a while it will be exclusive to you ;)

I wish you have fun with its pessimistic view of humanity! It's scary 'cause it's true :D

I will be happy to hear back from you with any feedback or questions you may have.

Cheers,
Spiros

Nodus 02 Update
11 days ago – Sun, Aug 09, 2026 at 11:11:35 AM

Hey guys,

It’s been a while, but I am now at a point to make a meaningful update, so here goes!

After many months of blood sweat and tears, I am happy to announce that the Dimday Red Core is here! For those who may not remember it from my previous update the Core is the full rulebook for Dimday Red. In it you will find every move, every mechanic, every Caste and faction and mutation, every corner of Neu Bonn worth knowing about, designed to be read on any screen.

In the Core you will get:

  • 150+ interconnected web pages of rules, lore, and setting material
  • 300+ illustrations
  • 8 playbooks
  • The world of Neu Bonn — Castes, Factions, Mutations, the Catharsis Wall, the Center, and the Citadel
  • A guide for the Doom Monger — running the game, building NPCs, escalating threats
  • One-shot and campaign guidelines — for tables that want a single session of doom or a long descent into it
  • Maps of Neu Bonn and the Center
  • Optimized for Desktop & Mobile screens to be available everywhere!

As mentioned before, the DdR Core is its own project, sold separately and not part of the Nodus zines and their KS campaigns.  But, as promised, and as a token of my appreciation for your continuing patience and support, the digital Core, priced at 30€, will be available for free for all physical backers of the Nodus 02 campaign.

In addition the limited edition physical Core artifact, priced at 75€, will be offered for free for all backers of the Collectors edition. You can find more details abbout the products in the new Dimday Red website at https://dimday.red

You can check the Core out at https://core.dimdiay.red and in the following days I will send you your personalized keys so you can access the entirety of its contents.

I feel I need to do this because on one hand I want to thank you, again, and on the other I feel bad for not having delivered the physical products yet. I won’t go bemoaning about my fate once more, but I am still trying to conclude the procedures for having the finished production shipped. As you may guess, this has to do with money, as the previous period drained most of my assets.

Still, new projects are opening up in September for 1sickPuppy (my design studio) and I intend to use this opportunity to create enough liquidity and get things unstuck.

I want to truthfully communicate this. Dimday Red is not dead! It happened to coincide with the most difficult period of my (not very short) life, and we both suffered from it. But you, the 166 physical backers of the Nodus 02 campaign, are a very special group of people for DdR and for me. I will always be obliged, even after the products are delivered, and you will keep getting the VIP treatment for all future projects like the upcoming VTT and mobile game (yes, these are still in development!).

The one thing I want to openly share is that two years ago, this whole project was based on a small but very capable team of people working for its various parts. At this point it’s just me. I don’t know, maybe the 1sickPuppy naming for my studio was prophetic 🥲 In any case, I am still here, still giving my all for Dimday Red and those who support it!

I hope you enjoy the Core, although it won’t make your summer any less hot, probably the opposite!

If you have any thoughts, questions or any other kind of feedback, please DM me. I will be happy to get in touch!

Cheers,
Spiros

P.S. I made this for a t-shirt as it accurately represents my mood at this time. If you can relate let me know if you want me to send you the high-res file :)

Nodus 02 Update
6 months ago – Thu, Feb 26, 2026 at 06:53:20 AM

Hey all,

As some of you may know, when I started working on Dimday Red, over five years now, I aimed it to be my gift to humanity, my raison d'être.  I put my everything in to it and invested much more of myself that I ever thought I could.

And although in many ways, it became what I wanted it to be, I fear that it also became my Moby Dick. An ever growing ambition of it being something more than just another story/game.

I always believed, and I still do, that most of the great things people have created through the eons, required some kind of excessive effort or sacrifice, and I willingly offered both.

But I have always been an odd mixture of a dreamer and a pragmatist, and the pragmatist side tells me that I went way over my head, and unless I make peace with my limitations, I will share a similar fate with Captain Ahab

A year and a half after its promised delivery, Nodus 02 kept getting bigger, after a number of additions and upgrades I made without anyone asking for them. The latest of these is this pouch for all of the people who have Dimday Red Decks in their orders. This delayed the finalization of productions, for about three more weeks, when it was otherwise ready to ship.

My vanity may have stood on one side of all this, but on the other was a gratitude and obligation I felt, to deliver something worthwhile to all of you, who not only believed and supported this project, but you have kept supporting it with your understanding, your patience, and your touching words.

The most important of the additions is the Dimday Red Core, whose physical form I teased in my previous update, and for which I am still working on. It proved to be a massive undertaking, with over 200 interconnected pages, hundreds of illustrations, maps and charts, bringing the whole Dimday Red world, rules and adventures, to your fingertips (literally when viewed on your mobile).

I expect to have it ready by the end of March and it will be available for free to all physical backers of Nodus 02. The physical products, although finished and done, are still on the way, as they must be combined with other shipments so the cost is shared and I can keep my promise for no added costs for delivery. I am told it could take another month or two.

I have accepted by now that due to a variety of choices I made on the way, and life throwing the kitchen sink on my personal life for the past two years, this project will be delivered even later than I ever thought it would. But also, if I know one thing is that it will be delivered even if it is the last thing I do!

I know in my heart that those of you who stick with it, will be overly rewarded with what you will receive. You will also be forever special for me personally and for the Dimday Red project in general. As such, you will keep having access to Dimday Red stuff like the Core and the VTT, which will be sold separately for others.

Still, if you don’t want to be part of this Odyssey of mine anymore, I understand and respect it. Please PM me and we’ll figure something out.

In any case, I want to thank all of you once more. Even being here, reading my rants once in a while means a lot :)

Cheers,
Spiros

Nodus 02 update
9 months ago – Thu, Nov 20, 2025 at 10:32:23 AM

Hey all,

At a previous update I debated if it would be a good thing to show you what's coming towards you, or if it would be better to keep the surprise element! As many of you, I would prefer the later.

Still, the delivery for the bulk of the production have been going much slower than I have hoped. The main reason is that I am trying to keep costs down for all of us. To make a long story short, things are moving, but they are moving slow. I expect the shipment to reach Greece in about a month.

So, because I fear that some of you may think that this will end up being a scam, and you'll never get your stuff, I had a few pieces delivered express, so I can show you that the product is real, ready, really cool and will be eventually coming!

For your eyes only, here the official first Nodus 02 unboxing of the real thing!

Now, this would be an ok-to-meh update if that was all! But it's not! What I am really excited to share is  what you see at 01:35 in the video.

The Core

The Core is something that wasn't supposed to be delivered with this campaign! It is the result of the past two years of work and it is the actual Core Rulebook for the Dimday TTRPG. It is created in the form of a pay-to-access wiki-styled website, so one can get all the rules, lore and assets for the game, through their PC or mobile at any time. It's content is the equivalent of a 250 page book.

What you see in the video is the physical Core, in the form of a golden artifact, an actual in-DdR-world object! (Disclaimer: please note it is not real gold :)). You use a code embedded on the artifact to access the online rulebook and exclusive perks.

So, as a tangible thank you for your patience all this time, all backers of the Collectors Edition will get the Core artifact for free with their order, and all other physical backers will get free access to the Core website. This will add 30€ (digital) to 50€ (physical) of value to your order (and something cool to own and show around)!

The online Core Rulebook is in its final stage of development so stay tuned! As always feel free to reach out and get in touch at any time!

Cheers,
Spiros

Nodus 02 Ready to Ship!
11 months ago – Thu, Sep 25, 2025 at 05:19:21 AM

Hey all,

I am happy to report the project is finally coming out of production! As usual, I couldn't help myself, so I added two more custom-designed, physical perks which are intended to complete the DdR experience for this stage, and I am sure you will appreciate 🙂

The perks, which I won't disclose and spoil your excitement (one of them is metallic 😁), will be available (at no extra cost) for people who backed either one of the physical Editions (Legacy, Luminary, or Collectors), or have added the Tenets and/or Moribus decks to their order.

The Backerkit pre-order page will be open until the end of this week (Sunday 28th) in case you want to upgrade your order and have extra cool stuff to find when you open your order!

After that, I will close the pre-order page and charge for postage so things can start moving towards you. I will have everything delivered from China to Greece, and then send orders personally from here.

This way I can make sure that all deliveries are checked and as intended, and the US orders won't be burdened with extra taxes caused by the new tariffs.

I am very excited we finally reached this point, I thank you once more for your support and I hope the end result will reward your faith in me and this project ❤

Cheers,
Spiros
